Chance's Email & Pictures 9/22/08

FAMILY!

how's it goin? first of all so sorry for last week i don't know what happened but i sent it on monday. sometimes because so many misssionaries write its a delay. but i will always write you guys. dad that is so cool about the ryder cup! i can just imagine all those people running and yelling and stuff and booing its hilarious. i wish i could've been there ha ha. that's cool about that one golfer and his story. marcus that stinks about the dew tour but hey at least you got to go right? i heard you are probably gonna get a 4.0! that's so awesome keep it up and stick it out till the end! it's so hard to do but it's so awesome!

my mission president is so awesome. sometimes it's hard to get advice from him cause he always says "your learning a lot and follow the spirit" things i already know but i need tips sometimes. but ya he is way personal and is always doing things for the missionaries. we had an activity last night for just our ward and he came on our invitation and spoke. it was way spiritual and he did awesome. after it ended two of our investigators (the ones i cooked the pancakes for) came up and said he touched them big time and they wanted to talk to him. we talked and basically committed them to baptism this sunday! the mom is ready but the daughter still has problems with the word of wisdom. they are hard core evangelists and it has been so hard for us to commit them. but im pretty sure they are gonna get baptized this sunday!

i wasnt able to view londons pictures i think im on a studid computer today so i'll try to view them next week, maybe try sending them again. ok i'm a little short on time cause i had technical difficulties, but i want to tell you about the baptism we had last week. so this woman that we baptized is 28 and has 5 kids ages 8 and under. she lives alone because the fathers, yes fathers, are stupid and selfish. she used to smoke, drink, do drugs, and sleep around. we would see her in the street smoking wearing hardly anything and she wanted nothing to do with us. well one day she just had such a hard day. she is poor as poor and has to take care of all 5 kids and just everything crashed down this day. we shared a lesson with her and let her know that the gospel was her haven and she needs to accept it. we were really strong with her and she finally committed to try and change. we have been teaching her for a couple weeks and the change has been incredible. one of the fathers has tried to get her to break the law of chastity like she used to before we taught her and she refused! she also left her cigarrettes and alcohol and drugs like it was nothing! she is so strong and just needed to get set on the right path. she is so happy now, although she still has way tough trials she is happy and laughs and has the help of god. when she was baptized we had a blind man in the ward perform it. i went into the water to help because he is blind and he had some problems with the prayer. when he got it down we made the first attempt. the water level was really low and she didn't get all the way under. i recognized that i would need to help a lot! we did it a second time and still no go. the third time i just took control and held her under until i saw that she was completely under and then lifted her up. on top of everything the water was freezing! but it was a success. although it was crazy it was awesome! she later said that she was freezing but the third time she felt warm and peaceful. it was so cool.

ok i gotta go. london i wrote you a letter and i'm sending it today. sorry i didn't write one today. that's so cool that you felt so good after church. i know that heavenly father answers our prayers in many different ways. im glad you have some good friends there to help you out. stay strong! i love you guys so much.

Boy to man! He is incredible and carries the strongest spirit! He changes everyone he comes in contact with. We so enjoyed Marcus' court of honor last night. Thanks for including us! He is so great! We love you all!
