dad and mom thanks for the letters of counsel and inspiration. mom thanks for investigating and trying to help me with my shoes and stuff. thats stupid its not in the warranty. i can buy shoes here for pretty cheap so put it on hold a minute and ill see what i can find.
dad i only have a spanish hymn book so one day i translated it into english and i read it and its killer but its not an exact translation. if you want you can write me the verses that were really powerful for you. also if you could dear elder me a talk by pres. benson entitled "beware of pride". i read it in spanish and it was killer and i want to read it in english. i believe it was in general conference.
i had a pretty cool experience this week. we have this family the family "casanova" and it includes a mom and dad and their daughters. the daughters are both in the twenties and the parents are a little older. well we are teaching them and they are hard core evangelists( the hardest to convert here in chile) and they love us and accept the doctrine and go to church but are so hesitant to be baptized. well, on friday we made lunch for them in their house. we cooked this uruguayan dish called calalones and it consists of beef, corn and onions all cooked and rolled in a thin pancake with a white sauce over it. they are ok but not amazing. well i was the pancaker maker and i have really mastered it here in chile. i made them extra thin and i was flippin the pancakes in the air and everything like nobodys business- it was unreal. i made like 25 pancakes and around pancake number 20 i was spent. keep in mind that each one was individually cooked in a frying pan on a small stove with little heat. they loved it and we ate. then we visited one of their neighbors next door and they came with us and it was like 7 people that we taught and 4 came to the church and it was cool it was like immediate blessings after service. well one thing i have noticed about the chilenos is that they are a little more heavy here than in the states. i was a little suprised. they love to talk about food and when i told them what i eat each morning they were shocked. they told me that eggs have a lot of cholesterol and i should eat much of them.. but they are bigger than me so i don't know if i should believe them. i eat like 2 or 3 almost every morning should i cut down?
well fam i love you all so much, you are all in my prayers and always keep in mind what is the most important and endure every trial you face with patience. also this week could you include the family of my companion in your prayers? they are not members and he is a little down and worried about them. thanks for all you do and your letters.
love, elder peterson
