Chance's Email 10/6/08

what up fam?
first i'd like to give shout out to everyone that is sending me letters. i got a letter from sissy and grandma winda this week thanks a lot and thanks everyone else. grandma winda i can always count on an awesome letter from you every week. how are you doin fam? i'm doin so awesome. i'm glad you got the letter from my companion. i read it before he sent it and it was really really nice. my focus has changed and a big part of it was pres monsons talk about love and his birthday wish which was to find someone that needs help or love and give it to them. so right now im trying to forget myself and go to work with love. my companion has taught me a lot but i value that lesson the most. some of the talks i liked the most were president perrys it was really cool. i loved elder bednars on prayer i can really improve my prayers. i love elder wirthlins on not letting afflictions get the better of us. i loved every single time pres monson talked, i really have accepted him as the prophet and love him to death. dad is right. the general conference is completely different on the mission. i was sooooooo stoked to listen to it, and we got to listen in english and i loved it! i didn't feel sleepy the whole 5 sessions. there were 4 missionaries from the US in a classroom in the stake center (everyone has to view the conference in the stake center, not in their homes). we had a small tv and we were all ears and whenever they said things about the missionary work or just great things we were like YEAH! or WOW that was strong! it was so cool. i was suprised how many times they mentioned being grateful for our blessings and that it's an abomination if we aren't thankful enough.

we have had some great activities lately, most include just uniting as a zone and going and talking to everyone in the streets or knocking doors in someone's area. i see taylor every week and his spanish is doin awesome. he is always so enthusiastic and talking and it seems like he has had more time in the mission than he does. he opened an area with his trainer. they are both brand new to the area and that's really tough to do, especially for a brand new missionary, i think that shows how much the Lord trusts in him. he is taking the mission like a stud.

london i cannot believe that you went to the great wall of china! that's gotta be amazing! it sounds like kenz is gettin serious with this guy, tell her to send me a dear elder or letter on questions or if she just wants to talk. i hope i getta see her wedding ha ha. london i'm glad you like the people you are with, whoa one sec, im in a place writing you guys and gangstas paradise is playin and im thinkin of you!! what a blessing to hear this song ha ha just kidding. but ya continuing, i have learned to like my comp a little more despite our grand differences. transfers are this sunday. im anxious to find out what happens haha. marcus what a STUD.COM for getting your eagle. i was able to see some of the photos but not all of them cause computers are retarded here. but wow what a milestone. mom, i am so thankful to have a support like you back at home and to send me love, not only in packages and letters but in your prayers as well. i love you so much and wish i could do more for you here in the mission. i will just give this 2 years my all and i think that's all you want. dad thanks so much for the wisdom and advice you send me about how to do the mission. i don't know what i would do if i couldn't turn to someone who had done this before. you have taught me everything i know and i use your advice everyday. you can send me articles in packages yes. they should all be off lds.org cause others aren't approved for the mission. thanks for being such an awesome, caring dad, i love you.

ok a little advice for adam. i was reading an ensign from february of this year entitled "our sons choices" show that article to dave and janie and i think it will give them lots of comfort. i gotta go thanks for all you do i love you from chile to china to utah and back.
